About Me

Sometimes I am my own model
I'm Leah Marie and I am a knitting and yarn junky. My kitting story started when I was 13. I was at the local library and saw "Knitting with Ms. B." sign. At that point I didn't know Ms. B (she had just started working at the library), but I was excited to join. I was always at the library for both books and all the free programs. What made this extra exciting to me was that this was a teen program. My first teen program and it was monthly too. I had already learned some crochet and wanted to learn knitting too. But, I didn't want to show up not knowing any knitting at all. In the days leading up to the new knitting group I asked my mom to show me how to knit. With Ms. B we made friends, talked about books, and yes we did a little knitting as well. Although "Knitting with Ms. B" was only a few years, it set a great foundation for years and yarns to come.

Now here we are after many years, jobs, and projects (both complete and still in progress). My husband Vince and I are currently living in my home town of Cincinnati, OH and I am still knitting up a storm. I consider myself lucky to have a husband who supports my yarn habit. Although, he doesn't always support the prices of this habit. He encourages me, gives advice, admires the finished projects, photographs projects, and occasionally models. My current day job does not allow me to be creative at all, so I enjoy this outlet where I can use a different side of my brain.

I have had lots of different emotions when dealing yarn and various projects. However, the reason that I have continued to knit and push myself to learn more, is the joy that it brings me. Joy when mastering a new skill or project. Joy when finishing a project. Joy when sharing with others. Joy with yarn.
